Media and Photo Consent
How we handle photos and video of children in our program, and how a parent or guardian can opt out at any time.
From time to time we take photos or video during sessions, the belt system, or the Warrior Ceremony, to share TRUETH's work with donors, partners, and the public.
Consent comes first
We only use images of a child publicly, including on our website, social media, or in printed materials, if a parent or legal guardian has given consent as part of enrollment.
What we ask
- Consent is specific to media use, separate from general program enrollment.
- A parent or guardian can consent to some uses and not others, for example internal program records but not public social media.
- We do not publish a child's identifying information, such as a full name or diagnosis, alongside a photo without separate written permission.
Opting out
A parent or guardian can decline media consent at enrollment, or withdraw it later, at any time, by contacting [email protected] or 702.871.8535. We will stop new public use of the child's image going forward and remove existing public images within a reasonable time.
How images are stored
Photos and video are kept on systems accessible only to staff who need them for program or fundraising purposes, and are not sold or licensed to outside parties.
