Our story

Our founder is the mother of a twice-exceptional child, exceptionally gifted and neurodivergent at the same time. The therapies available were not reaching him. As a martial arts practitioner herself, she believed the discipline could help, and she tried to teach him directly. It did not work. She was focused on technique, and he was refusing to learn it from his own parent.

So she went looking for the right teacher instead. After months of searching she found a small school in Woodinville and interviewed the instructor, Grand Master Won Kuk Kim.

What she noticed

Her son, who resisted every tutor and had to be dragged to every appointment, would not be a minute late to Grand Master Kim's class. He ran to it.

She spent a year saying nothing and simply watching. Then she started asking other parents whether she could include their children in what she was observing, and the pattern held. It was not just her child.

These are a parent's observations, gathered informally. They are the reason we are now building a formal measurement program with clinical partners, not a substitute for one.

Why the program exists at all

When she finally asked Grand Master Kim why a master of his standing was teaching children, he told her he had been asked to. He was not interested in building a business. He had spent a career training masters, military, and law enforcement, and he had decided to do this as an act of service.

TRUETH exists to carry that work further than one small school can reach, and to build the evidence base that lets hospitals, schools, and families take it seriously.
