For families

Safety

Physical safety, emotional safety, and the safeguarding rules our instructors work under.

Physical safety

Martial arts involves contact. In our children's programs that contact is controlled, taught progressively, and never used as punishment or as a test of toughness. Sparring is not the point of this program.

Emotional safety

No child is shamed for dysregulating. A child who melts down, leaves the mat, or cannot participate that day has not failed. The response is regulation support, not discipline.

Safeguarding

  • Observable environments, with parents welcome to watch
  • Clear rules about appropriate physical contact in instruction
  • A named way to raise a concern, and protection from retaliation for raising it

Our physical contact, safeguarding, injury and emergency policies are published in full under Policies.
