The TRUETH Pledge

Our pledge, written from the teaching of Grand Master Won Kuk Kim. We wrote it for students to say together at the start of class, after the bow. It holds the three pillars in words a five-year-old can learn.

The Student Pledge

  1. I pledge TRUST: I keep my word, I keep my hands kind, and I keep others safe.
  2. I pledge TIME: I practice when it is hard, I listen to my teachers, and I help the student beside me.
  3. I pledge to TRANSCEND: I meet my anger and my fear with breath, I rise each time I fall, and I become who I am meant to be.
  4. No child is broken. I carry something extraordinary, and so does everyone here.

For our youngest students

  1. I trust. I practice. I rise.
  2. No child is broken.
  3. TRUST. TIME. TRANSCEND.

The Family and Citizen Pledge

  1. I pledge to see each child for who they are becoming.
  2. I pledge to give my time and patience to their practice.
  3. I pledge to keep this community safe, kind and open to every family.
  4. TRUST. TIME. TRANSCEND.

We invite instructors, volunteers, families and supporters to take the Family and Citizen Pledge when they join TRUETH.
