Conflicts of Interest
How board members and staff disclose and manage a personal or financial interest that could affect a TRUETH decision.
This policy is written and in effect as TRUETH practice. Formal board adoption and counsel review are in progress.

A conflict of interest arises when a board member's or staff member's personal, family, or financial interest could influence, or appear to influence, a decision they make on behalf of TRUETH Foundation.
Disclosure
Board members and relevant staff are expected to disclose any known conflict of interest before a related decision is made or a vote is taken.
Managing a conflict
A board member with a disclosed conflict does not vote on the matter and, where appropriate, is not present for the related discussion.
Related transactions
See our Related-Party Transactions policy for how we handle any transaction between TRUETH and a board member, staff member, or their family.
Status
TRUETH intends to operate under a formally adopted conflicts-of-interest policy, consistent with standard nonprofit governance practice. Formal board adoption of the written policy is in progress as we build out our governance documents.
